The mountains surrounding Terra are rugged with their peaks often shrouded in thick mist. Occasionally, one might spy the snowy summits, but most days only the green, rocky roots are seen. The northwestern part of the chain is the most inhospitable with towering peaks, while the more eastern region is somewhat smaller, greener, and perhaps a little less hostile of an environment. Unforgiving and harsh, the entire mountain range is an unfriendly border which has kept most outsiders out, but also keeps those within from leaving easily. The Scouts, usually the winged wolves, often patrol this border, but none venture too high or too deep into the range. Moderators: Rattata, devash
The Great Den is nestled at the foot of the Northeastern Mountains. Shrouded by lush vegetation and sheltered by growing stalactites, the opening of the Great Den is wider than it is tall, providing ample entry room while keeping the elements at bay. It leads to a spacious cavern where the Nova have gathered for centuries. Branching from this massive meeting hall is a series of tunnels, one set of which provides smaller rooms as private dens. No wolf knows just how extensive the network of tunnels and passageways is, though it is believed the cave system reaches deep into the mountains. Twisting and maze-like, the labyrinth has remained mostly unexplored. Moderators: Rattata, devash
A wide river cuts across the valley of Terra, bringing cold fresh water from the apex of the mountains. It begins somewhere in the northern mountains, its head a tall waterfall. Moderators: Rattata, devash
Once a lush, verdant paradise, Terra is now a white wasteland. Covered in snow, it hardly resembles the forested valley it once was. The river has frozen solid in some places, and only the deepest or fasted running parts still provide fresh water. Large prey has become all but nonexistent with only small animals such as rabbits and squirrels remaining, and even those are growing scarce. Never before has the Nova seen such an unexpected turn of weather, rendering their fate uncertain.
To the south east, at the very edge of Terra's rainforest, there is a massive prairie land. Long ago, this area was also lush forest, but an ancient battle between the Nova and the bears caused the area to be completely destroyed. The powerful creatures raged against each other for nearly a week. Many wolves and many bears died in the struggle, leaving both packs with only a few survivors. Somehow, the wolves were victorious at long last, and banished the surviving bears to the volcanic wasteland in the south. The alpha male at the time was a great Goch ancestor.
To this day, you can still find remains of burned tree stumps among the thick grass. The prairie is known as Blood Hill, for it is located on a gigantic, gently sloping mound. Legend says it is a mound because the bodies of the fallen creatures are buried below it. Moderators: Rattata, devash
In the far South, the mountain range turns volcanic and the greenery fades into hard rock. Some places are barren wastelands, the earth sour with sulfur and the occasional magma drip charring everything in its path. Other places are more livable with enough short grasses to support small animals. However, fresh water is a scare commodity, as most of the water is tainted from the volcanic activity; the exception is a thin tributary of the Great River which only flows well after a good rain. Few if any of the Nova wolves come to this area, even the scouts, for legends tell of ugly mutant beasts who reside in the hot, unpredictable volcanic landscape. This area technically falls outside of Nova territory, though it is still considered part of Terra. Moderators: Rattata, devash
